Former Vice Chair at Credit Suisse Shares Why He Has Been an Early Zeal Champion

April 27, 2022

Paul Tregidgo

My name is Paul Tregidgo and I am a reforming Capital Markets Banker, now focused on impact outcomes through the intersection of finance, markets and technology. I was attracted to engage with Zeal Capital Partners because of their special blend of mission, strategy and people. All of which is so passionately and clearly articulated by Founder Nasir Qadree: “Our mission is to narrow wealth and skills gaps by investing in early-stage tech-enabled businesses that make postsecondary, alternative education, career opportunities, and financial services more accessible to all.”
Nasir explained his premise that the deficiencies of traditional services in the world of credit and workplace practices can, and must, be addressed by those who truly understand them through life experience and background. Early-stage funding of these first-time emerging entrepreneurs was a gap that had to be filled. Doing so would catalyze more capital, opportunity and wealth creation - a win for everyone. Nasir recognized the opportunity of new technologies and workflows, which can be responsibly applied to break down barriers to financial access and advancement. This will promote widespread improved financial health and wellbeing that results in a ripple effect, creating opportunity in the workplace for individuals, enterprises and their communities.
Zeal's strategy is to invest in innovative companies, founded by diverse (and often “first time’) entrepreneurs, provides expanded access to credit, builds new pathways towards wealth-creation and innovates new approaches in the workplace. This strategy will benefit those whose needs, aspirations, and potential have not been served by tradition.
Have you ever met someone that you are immediately drawn to? A person who just has that intangible ability to inspire you – for me, that is Nasir. Something that has always been overwhelmingly evident in all our interactions has been his clarity of vision and singular focus on doing things "the right way” every time, all the time. He has an aptitude for building a team of like-minded partners, collaborators, investors and portfolio enterprises, and still never drops the ball on the delivery of results. All of which is reflected in Zeal's “Inclusive Investing” mantra, where discipline, return and impact are front and center.
Despite the dislocations of the pandemic, Nasir has built an impressive team of diverse talent, sharing a common objective. I encourage everyone to get to know Nasir, Andy, Evelysse, and the broader Zeal community. They have surpassed every milestone and exceeded every target thus far. I invite you to join them on their journey to make an exponential impact in the economic world around us.
