About Tom
Tom Blaisdell serves as Senior Advisor to Zeal Capital Partners, where he advises the Managing Partner and broader investment team on firm-wide strategy, strengthening both operations and investment process. He brings more than 30 years of operating and investing experience in venture-backed companies, as well as experience in consulting and academia.
Tom is also the Founder of AlignPact, where he partners with mission-driven entrepreneurs and investors to build enduring companies designed to deliver both financial returns and meaningful social impact.
Previously, Tom served as Executive Director of the Center for Private Equity and Entrepreneurship at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he enhanced curriculum and programming around private equity, venture capital, and entrepreneurship.
Earlier in his career, Tom spent 17 years as a General Partner at DCM Ventures, where he helped scale the firm from a single office in Menlo Park to a global platform managing $3.8B across a dozen funds with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Tokyo. During this time, he consistently focused on financial technology and services that empower entrepreneurs and small businesses, leading investments in companies such as Bill.com (IPO, NYSE), PayCycle (acquired by Intuit), HireRight (IPO, NASDAQ; acquired by USIS), Jaspersoft (acquired by Tibco), Caring.com (acquired by Bankrate), Vendavo (acquired by Francisco Partners), and Vindicia (acquired by Amdocs).
Tom began his technology career at Intuit, where he spent six years and ultimately became GM of the QuickBooks division. He previously worked as a consultant with Bain & Co. in Boston and San Francisco, and as an environmental engineering consultant at Acurex in Mountain View, California.
